Activated Carbon

Activated carbon, also called activated charcoal, is a form of carbon that has been processed to create millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms, resulting in a dramatically increased surface area. The surface area of activated carbon makes the material suitable for adsorption. Activated Carbon is used to remove impurities from fluids, vapours or gases.

Activated carbon is an absorbent that is used in a wide variety of liquid and gas phase applications such as water filters, wastewater treatment, raw water treatment, decolourization, gold recovery, air conditioning filters, catalysts, cigarettes, gas masks, solvent recovery, nuclear filters, and many more.

Activated carbons are manufactured from coconut shell, peat, pine wood, cashurina wood, hard and soft wood, lignite coal, bituminous coal, olive pits and various carbonaceous specialty materials. The adsorption process helps carbon reduce hazardous gas, activate chemical reactions, and act as a carrier of biomass and chemicals.

Activated carbon products effectively remove pollutants, contaminants and other impurities from water, air, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals etc.

High-grade activated used in a growing range of environmental, health, safety and industrial applications. Based upon the application and requirements, a specific form and size are recommended.

We offer a wide range of activated carbon solutions, each with their own uses and applications, in three major product groups.

  • Powdered activated carbon
  • Granular activated carbon
  • Activated carbon made from coconut shell

Activated carbon made from coconut shell has high Iodine Adsorption Value, and is ideally suited for wastewater applications, due to its high porosity and hardness and very high surface area characterized by a large proportion of micro pores.

High hardness with low dust generation.

Exceptional purity, typically < 3to 5% ash content.

We offer activated carbon both in granular as well as powdered form. It is used in wide variety of liquid and gas phase applications like

  • Water filters
  • Waste water treatment
  • Raw water treatment
  • Decolourization
  • Gold Recovery
  • Air conditioning filters
  • For adding in aeration tank for COD and colour removal
  • As a polishing filter for removal of residual COD and colour
  • Decolorizing agent in bulk drugs and pharma intermediates
